Jean de La Rochebrochard is an investor in start-ups, partner of the Kima Ventures fund, the investment holding company of Free’s boss Xavier Niel. He is an investor in several French unicorns including Blablacar and OVH.

Each week he studies hundreds of cases, each year he completes a hundred deals. All without sacrificing your family life, without being overwhelmed by your agenda. He also illustrates his method in his first book Human Machine.

Jean joined the startup ecosystem when he joined The Family as a partner in 2013 after working in corporate finance.

Who is your biggest source of inspiration?

It’s not who it’s what ๐Ÿ™‚ People who come up with solutions that sound obvious and genius at the same time. People who have an incredible unique ability and make beautiful things out of it (craftmen, designers, coders…)

How do you keep learning on a daily basis?

Always questioning choices in the most simple way.

Always reflecting on failures in the most honest way.

What are your learning routines?

I write to structure.

I walk to process.

I talk to reflect.

I don’t listen to podcasts, it’s not how I can process information.
